Two sliders, one room
The collective tier — Slaapkamer, the sleeping room — gives each of two people a slider. The alchemical gold of the room is the product of the two numbers, and what grows out of the product over a shared decade.
The product is not the sum
Two people at 0.7 do not make 1.4 of life. They make 0.49 — and 0.49 compounds differently, on a different curve, with a different bend. The room has its own second order.
The room's practice
- • Each person moves their own slider. No one moves another's.
- • The room is read by neither — only by the dial that appears between.
- • A third person joining multiplies the product, not adds to it. Three 0.7s compound as 0.343, and the curve bends again.
The gold that only forms between
Alchemy is the discipline of working on a substance that only exists in the reaction. The Laegna gold is the second-order curve that two people draw together — unmeasurable from inside either life, visible only from outside the room, over decades.
